Hybrid Intelligence World: Bridging the Gap Between Science, Education, and Tech Integration
Launched in February 2023, Hybrid Intelligence World is Dr. Carina Antonia Hallin's second research company. Her first spinout and co-founded company, Mindpool, is an employee prediction and insight company, acquired in September 2022 by the innovation platform, Wazoku Limited, headquartered in London.
Hybrid Intelligence World represents a new chapter in her research journey, focused on fostering collaboration between scientists, researchers, educators, technology developers, and project managers.
In January 2023, the IT University of Copenhagen provided the legal framework for the launch of Hybrid Intelligence World's on-demand platform. This platform serves as a marketplace for scientific research, education, and technology integration, specifically designed to accelerate progress in the human-machine age, also recently referred to as the Fifth Industrial Revolution (EU Commission, 2021).
Synergistic Collaboration: The Key to Success
Hybrid Intelligence world's core principle lies in the belief that human-machine collaboration, also known as hybrid intelligence, can unlock the full potential of organizations, municipalities, communities, and societies by combining human and machine intelligence, while still including responsible AI and ethical principles.
By bringing together leading experts from diverse fields, Hybrid Intelligence World aims to create a collaborative ecosystem where cutting-edge scientific discoveries are combined with effective educational tools, project management expertise, and seamless technology integration.
Beyond the Walls of Laboratories: The Power of External Partnerships
Dr. Hallin's extensive experience in collaborative research, both with public and private entities, highlighted the limitations of isolated research conducted solely within academic settings. Hybrid Intelligence World emphasizes the importance of external partnerships to facilitate real-world validation of scientific discoveries and technological advancements. By conducting field experiments, collecting data, and integrating and validating tech solutions in collaboration with external partners, the platform aims to not only reduce research costs but also ensure the developed solutions are readily applicable in real-world scenarios.
Dr. Hallin is an information- and decision science scholar, educator, author, entrepreneur, and thought leader in collective intelligence (CI) and hybrid intelligence (CI+AI).
She is an Adjunct Associate professor of Collective- and Hybrid Intelligence at the University of Stavanger, Norway, a research affiliate and founder of the Collective Intelligence Research Group at the IT University of Copenhagen, and co-founder of the community for Knowledge Integration, Synthesis, and Engineering at the Academy of Management, the preeminent professional association for management and organization scholars with 25,000+ members,
Hallin is also the co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Collective Intelligence for Democracy and Governance, published in June 2023. The handbook has more than 60 contributors, including scholars from other prestigious universities around the world, who explore the concepts, methodologies, technologies, and implications of collective intelligence for democratic governance, in the first comprehensive survey of the field. The handbook has been downloaded more than 100,000 times through open access.
Dr. Hallin holds a long background in collective intelligence research, most recently as an Assistant Professor in Collective Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence at the IT University of Copenhagen. Moreover, she was a research affiliate at the MIT Center for Collective Intelligence from 2020 to 2022.
In her research, she has investigated a wide spectrum of crowdsourcing platforms, both in Europe and beyond, that integrate collective intelligence and artificial intelligence.
As a hybrid intelligence scholar, she is well-versed in the latest developments in CI/AI technology and is also able to integrate this technology with innovation, human intuition, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Moreover, working with other scientists highly specialized in collective intelligence, artificial intelligence, intelligence, robotics, and quantum computing, Hybrid Intelligence World is ready to grow the consciousness of any organization, community, or society.
At Hybrid Intelligence World, Dr. Hallin collaborates with a team of leading experts in science, education, project management, and technology. Together, they are dedicated to helping organizations, communities, and societies unlock the full potential of hybrid intelligence to drive impact, such as accelerating innovation, and solving complex problems in the human-machine age.
